Timothy Miller, President & CEO

Tim MillerTim's career began with EDS Corporation where he completed the Systems Engineer Development (SED) program and later transferred to the Electronic Commerce Division in Plano, TX. With EDS, Tim led the implementation of the industry's first electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) solutions that included MCI/Worldcom. In 1999 Tim was hired by IBM to build an EBPP National Practice in New York. Tim was on point as his teams successfully sold and implemented over 60 complex EBPP projects around the globe to the world's largest financial services, telcos, and public utilities that included Citibank, State Farm, Geico, and Optus. In 2007 Tim Miller and Mason Woods co-founded SUMOTEXT and launched services in January of 2008. Tim has a B.B.A. from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and was a 2011 Arkansas Business selection to the "40 Under 40" list of businesspeople in Arkansas. (email him: tim@)

 

John Styers, EVP

John StyersJohn Styers' core responsibilities at SUMOTEXT include corporate development and spearheading our mobile health (mHealth) initiatives. Syters' experience includes Executive Board membership of the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) and Chairmanship of the Annual Global Messaging Congress in Europe. Styers' widely acknowledged expertise in the areas of messaging, mobile enterprise solutions, mHealth, and mobile marketing has earned him global recognition as an industry thought leader and frequent speaker at MMA events, CTIA, 3GSM and The Global Messaging Congress in Europe and Asia. Prior to joining SUMOTEXT, Styers was the Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Industry Relations at 3Cinteractive. Styers experience also includes his role as General Manager of the Sprint Mobile Media Network. In this role, he guided the development and positioning of Sprint’s growing mobile advertising, mobile search and off-portal content strategies. In 2003, Styers led the development and design of Sprint’s Messaging, Social Networking, IM, Email, and Picture Mail services as Director of Data Communications. Before joining Sprint, Styers was the Global Director of Operations and Finance for Crown Greetings, the mobile division of Hallmark Cards. Mason Woods, CTO

Born and raised in New York City, Mason pursued his education out west where he graduated from California State University with National Honors and returned to New York in 1989 to begin his technical career with Mitsubishi Bank. In 1995 Mason started his own boutique software development firm and has since written dozens of mission critical applications still in use today at companies like McKinsey & Co., Merrill Lynch, Bankers Trust, The EMMY Awards, PDM, Johnson & Higgins, and Archery Capital. Mason is responsible for the company's technology and product architecture while leading the development of the company's services platform. (email him: mase@)

Randy Atkisson, VP

Randy is a mobile marketing industry veteran with over 20 years of experience in both buy-side and sell-side advertising and media. Randy provides leadership to the SUMOTEXT sales, business development, and client services teams while providing complimentary consulting and advisory services to our clients and prospects. Randy is a frequent speaker and panelist on activating offline media to increase response rates and has developed highly integrated mobile strategies for companies such as MGM Resorts International, CondeNast, Tribune, Nissan, Harrah’s, General Motors, and Anheuser Busch. Ted Dickey, Advisor

Ted Dickey received a bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Thereafter, he earned a Juris Doctorate and was admitted to the Arkansas Bar. He spent more than six years at Stephens Inc. in its Corporate Finance Department employed as a financial analyst, an associate in the Financial Services Group and then as a vice president in the Private Placement Group. During this time, he was responsible for placing debt and equity securities with institutional investors for public and private companies. Ted is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a 2004 Arkansas Business selection to the "40 Under 40" list of businesspeople in Arkansas, and is the former chairman of the Arkansas Ethics Commission.


Mike Smith, Jr., Advisor

Mike manages MS Partners, LLC, a business consulting and advisory firm he founded in 2004. Mike is a former senior vice president in the Corporate Finance Group of Stephens Inc. He completed more than 50 merger and acquisition, public offering and private placement transactions for privately owned and publicly traded middle market companies during his 13 years there. He also sourced and executed principal investments for the Stephens family. Mike is actively involved in venture capital and entrepreneurial development in the region, speaking on venture capital and early stage business development topics and serving on several private company boards. Mike graduated from Duke University with a B.A. in economics and received his MBA in Finance from the Fuqua School of Business.
